How was everyone’s Halloween?!! I didn’t dress up, but we did have a costume contest at work and tons of people came up with some pretty amazing ideas! So for my lack of creativity, I’ll compensate by sketching out some of those cool costumes! Here is Steve Zissou, from ‘Life Aquatic’!

Here’s a little sketch of a girl, inspired from ‘Odile’, the character of Jean-Luc Godard 1964 movie “Band of Outsiders”. I was watching it last night and found the black and white images absolutely beautiful, and terribly inspiring! …I found myself wondering, what the real colours of her clothes might have been.

The Jidai Matsuri (時代祭り) or the “Festival of the Ages” is held every October 22 in Kyoto, Japan. In celebration of the anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto, over 2,000 participants dress in costumes from various periods of Kyoto’s 1,200 year history and transport a portable shrine called a mikoshi from Kyoto Gosho (京都御所 Kyoto Imperial Palace) to the Heian Jingu Shrine. Instagrammers at yesterday’s festival captured beautiful scenes throughout the parade. Be sure to check out the hashtags #jidaimatsuri, and #時代祭 for more!
